Get on board with the mixology craze by learning to create some of the potent potables yourself at summer classes at Royalton. The Shaken Or Stirred series kicked off last month and runs Saturdays in June through the 21st; this weekend's theme centers around summer cocktails made with tequila. You'll learn some of the classics first, if you don't already know them, then learn how to tweak them to put your signature spin on at-home imbibing. Classes run from 1:30 p.m. until 3 p.m., which should give pupils plenty of time to make multiple drinks...and consume them! Tickets are $75 per person; future office happy hour bragging rights are free.

Hearth & Table's fun supper clubs began as the Brooklyn version of chef/owner Jessica Mattheus's bungalow dinner club she operated in Amelia, Italy one summer. But it's Oaxacan cuisine that she's mad about at this month's version, following a month-long stay in Mexico's Oaxaca City studying at chef Pilar Cabrera's restaurant La Olla. For the Vincenzo's Oaxacan Feast event, Chef Mattheus will be preparing a typical Oaxacan meal, which is sure to include many preparations using chili peppers and perhaps mole, for which the region is known. Alongside the meal, the restaurant promises some mezcal sipping to "get the night going." Tickets are $50 per person; dinner begins at 7 p.m. on Friday.

The Purple One known as Prince celebrates his 56th birthday (!!) on Saturday and LES restaurant Louie and Chan are celebrating with The Purple Soak, a birthday brunch that promises to be "one of the sexiest & funkiest brunch parties this side of Minneapolis." Prince & The Revolution LPs will be spinning from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with special Raspberry Beret cocktails to fuel a funky drunch party. Brunch means things like potato frittatas or blueberry pancakes or even a sausage pizza topped with an egg.

From excellent bialys to superlative hand-pulled noodles, the Lower East Side equally encapsulates Chinese and Jewish cultures; to celebrate this cross-pollination, the Museum at Eldridge Street puts on an annual block party called the Egg Rolls & Egg Creams Festival. Now in its 14th year, the event offers some very delicious food, as befits the theme of the event. Nosh on crunchy egg rolls and sip up fizzy egg creams and think about the generations who've been doing the very same thing on the very same spot for decades and decades. The fest begins at noon this Sunday and runs until 4 p.m.; it's free to attend.
