[Update Below]Smorgasburg

won't be the only awesome event on the Brooklyn waterfront this weekend. Just a few blocks north at 5 North 11th Street, the first ever Brooklyn Waterfront Craft & Specialty Beer Festival will be going down all day Saturday. You want beer? There will be oh so much craft and specialty beer on hand. Also food. And music. Even seminars, if that's your thing. Only problem is, it isn't that cheap—so you'll want to drink fast!

At least the organizers, Hand Crated Tasting Company, seem to know what they are doing. They successfully pulled off the NYC Craft Beer Festival earlier this year. So, what's this baby going to cost you? Well, there are two sessions. The first one starts at 1:30 p.m. and goes till 4 p.m. and the second is from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Each session is $125 in advance and $135 at the door (for the "Connoisseur Package," see update below). You can get your tickets right here.

We'd also point out that, for an extra $75 ($85 at the door) you can get a VIP ticket to the event which gets you into the door for either session an hour earlier, giving you more time to enjoy the 150+ beers on hand, as well as the food, seminars and the like. Yes, that's pricey but if our experience has taught us anything over the years it is that one precious extra hour from a VIP ticket can make a world of difference when going to these kinds of massive events. Well, unless we're talking about The Great GoogaMooga.

Update: The prices listed above are for the "Connoisseur Package"—not general admission. Those are available for the far more reasonable $55 in advance and $65 at the door. Sorry for the confusion!
