Once-beloved Upper West Side restaurant Kefi had a string of bad luck last year, getting shut down briefly by the Department of Health in October before a burst pipe closed up shop for the long run in January. But the popular Greek spot's owner had some good news for fans this week, announcing that Kefi will reopen in a few months.

The burst frozen pipe that did Kefi in back in January also shuttered its neighbor, tapas newcomer Casa Pomona; Kefi's downstairs dining room and prep kitchen were submerged in over four feet of water, and Casa Pomona, whose owners had already lost bundles of money after Hurricane Sandy, had to wait six months until even part of their $500,000 insurance claim got processed.

Casa Pomona will reopen sometime this month, and though fans will have to wait a little longer to dig back into Kefi's hearty chopped Greek salads and meze platters, chef and owner Michael Psilakis says the restaurant's remodeling is already well underway.
