There are only approximately 2,999 comic book movies coming out in the next two years (Deadpool, Captain America: Civil War, Suicide Squad, Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Prologues, Doctor Strange, Gambit: AbsMan, Wolverine 3: The Last Wolverining, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Wonder Woman, Untitled Spider-Man Film Volume 3: The Re-Rebooting, Thor: Ragnarok: Cate Blanchett???, Justice League: Part 1, I'm sure a dozen others I'm forgetting), but maybe you can make room in your heart for just one more, pretty please: below, check out the trailer for the latest X-Men film, X-Men: Apocalypse: How Professor X Lost His Hair.
It looks significantly apocalyptic, doesn't it?! Director Bryan Singer promised two years ago that this film would have "more of the mass destruction that X-Men films, to date, have not relied upon," and judging by all those exploding bridges and vows of cities turning to ashes, he has delivered. The tagline is "Only The Strong Will Survive," which sounds a lot like a Billy Joel song generator title, so we're prettttttty sure that means there will be a 10 minute montage set to "We Didn't Start The Fire" in the third act of the film.
And there's so much more, like: Al Pacino-in-training Oscar Isaac in a surprisingly accurate looking Apocalypse suit! An enlarged Apocalypse crushing someone in a very comic-y shot! Actual X-Men characters fans care about (Cyclops! Jean Grey! Storm! Nightcrawler!)! Bald Prof. X! Hints of another cool Quicksilver scene! Jennifer Lawrence not in blue face! Olivia Munn as evil Psylocke? Uh, ok! Evil Magneto under a bad guy's influence? I guess. Bible lessons? Wowee zowee!
But there's no sign of Wolverine, so maybe this isn't an X-Men movie after all.
