Once upon a time, a man had a dream that he was being eaten by a hamburger. That humble man was comedian Jerry Seinfeld, and now after over 30 years in comedy, he's decided to take control of his legacy. Seinfeld announced this week that he will be debuting his new website this Friday. JerrySeinfeld.com will feature clips of nearly every recorded comedy performance he has given. Check out one of those clips below, featuring a bespectacled 20-something Seinfeld making his first TV appearance in 1977:

The master of his domain told the Times a little bit behind the motivation to start the archival site: "I really thought, ‘Where’s my stuff going to be when I’m dead?’ Is it just gone for all time? Who could sift through it? I thought, I should filter this out and be the judge of what I thought was good.” But Seinfeld will still exercise "portion control"over the content, and each day the site will offer only three of the thousands of videos. He added that only his stand-up clips will appear on the site, but ones from Seinfeld may appear as part of another project he's working on.

Seinfeld talked a bit about that first TV appearance and the tramway bit in Talking Funny, the recent HBO documentary which features himself, Rick Gervais, Chris Rock and Louis CK shooting the shit about their careers and comedy. "All I had to do was do it once," Jerry said. "Really, success wasn't my objective. It was just, I wanted to be one of those guys. If I could be one of those guys, I could win anything. Money was not the thing. So once I stepped on [stage] the first time, that's it, I'm now one of those guys." Check out a clip below:

And here's one more clip from that 1977 TV appearance on “Celebrity Cabaret:"
