The Wes Anderson Art Show Is Finally Headed To NYC

The Wes Anderson art show started in San Francisco in 2010, and now—in its sixth inception—has finally made its way to New York. Started by Ken Harman, the pop-up show is called "Bad Dads," and this time around will be exhibited at Joseph Gross Gallery in Chelsea.
The show will bring together 70 artists, all hand-picked, and channeling that Wes Anderson-style—Harman recently told Vogue, "Wes Anderson’s films have such wonderful colors, and composition, and all those things are very appealing to visual artists." The show will include painting, sculpture, and limited edition prints.
More from the organizers on this year's move to New York:
Although Anderson's films take us everywhere from a fictional pre-war Europe to the far reaches of India and even out to sea, New York City is home to one of Anderson’s first real successes, The Royal Tenenbaums. His palpable connection to New York is only made stronger by the fact that he lives there as well. As the exhibition enters its sixth consecutive year, it only makes sense to host it in such an exciting and diverse city.
This will all go down August 6th through 9th, and is expected to see Rain Room-esque lines, so get there early, and don your best Tenenbaum outfit, as these are often filled with costumed attendees.
