Every year, The Orchid Show descends upon The New York Botanical Garden, transforming it into a misty landscape of orchids and other flora, hanging down from overhead, supported by ferns, tropical trees, and tall canopy palms. Joining those sights is the main feature of the display, featuring orchids and ferns amongst rocky formations—all flanking a central pool fed by waterfalls. All this with Spanish moss and natural, flower-lined arbors make this the country's largest curated show featuring orchids.
The display was designed and curated by tropical plants and aquatics expert Francisca Coelho, a celebrated graduate of the Garden's School of Professional Horticulture. She's grown her career at the Garden over the past 30 years and is well-regarded for her skill for creating stunning plant galleries and high-profile seasonal shows.
The Orchid Show features daily rotating displays of orchids from Australia, Africa, South America, Madagascar, and others. Take it all in at the New York Botanical Garden until April 22nd. Adult All-Garden Pass tickets start at $20. But hurry up, this is your last weekend to go!
