Recently, following a full binge-watch of Schitt's Creek, I thought, "I'd like to take a little weekend vacation and stay in that hotel." It seemed like a budget-friendly idea, but maybe there was more to it — living out a fantasy of burning one's life down and starting anew in a roadside motel in Canada. Essentially the plot of the show, even if the Rose family (Eugene Levy, Catherine O'Hara, Daniel Levy, Annie Murphy) didn't plan it. I got as far as googling to find out it was exclusively used for filming these days, but then, serendipitously, an email landed in my inbox that read: "VISIT SCHITT’S CREEK."

This week, Pop TV announced a limited-run “Visit Schitt’s Creek” pop-up event, an immersive to-do that will "give fans the chance to experience parts of the series’ most iconic sets this holiday season, along with interactive photo moments, access to limited merchandise and more." Honestly, I've never considered myself a pop-up kind of person, and cringed most of my way through a recent press preview of a similar Friends experience, but I immediately realized: THIS IS MY FRIENDS POP-UP EXPERIENCE.

If you haven't watched it — maybe because of the name? — I urge you to take a mind-vacation to Schitt's Creek, which is streaming on Netflix ahead of its return on January 7th when we'll get the sixth and final season. It's simply the best.

It's better than all the rest.

WHEN & WHERE:

December 13th through 15th

The Gallery at Metropolitan Pavilion at 125 W 18th Street

Friday and Saturday, noon to 8 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

And it's FREE (unlike that $38 Friends pop-up), though you need to make reservations starting November 1st at 2 p.m. EST.

You can check out www.visitschittscreek.com for the latest details.
