Samantha Bee wasted no time covering the ongoing Harvey Weinstein sexual harassment scandal last night on Full Frontal. She explained that the stories about Weinstein painted a clear picture of who he is—namely, a nightmare Hieronymus Bosch painting. She was particularly unconvinced by his initial "apology" and attempt to blame his behavior on growing up during a different time: "Oh give me a break white Cosby," Bee said. "Nobody asked for your all-about-mea-culpa. Don't blame the '60s and '70s for your shitty decision making. It's serial sexual harassment, not a Monkees tattoo."
She talked about how sexual harassment is rampant in every profession, and scolded men for being surprised by this. "We women have known men were gross since our sixth grade gym teacher said, 'Good job' at the end of class, then massaged our shoulders that were somehow on the front of our bodies," she said.
And she ended the segment with a message to the "creeps of Hollywood": "Weinstein isn't the only cool Democrat lurking in film festival hotels, waiting to play a jolly masturbation prank," Bee said. "Women talk to each other. And we talk to journalists, and we talk to lawyers. It's 2017, we don't have to put up with this shit. We are coming for you."
She also made a PSA about powerful men and masturbating in the workplace: "Fellas, I'm a big comedy star/Hollywood executive, and I've found it's quite easy not to masturbate in front of my employees. In fact it's one of the easiest things I don't do. Every day I wake up, get dressed, take the subway to work, and then don't masturbate in front of anyone."
