Which one of these guys would you rather run in to in the dead of night? The Prospect Park Zoo has a new exhibit, called The Night Shift, that lets you get up close to a whole army of nocturnal critters. The roster includes two species of porcupines, a small group of Rodrigues fruit bats, a pair of pygmy loris and a pair of brush tailed bettongs and a family of Malagasy jumping rats.

If you head over there, the zoo's director Denise McClean advises, “The trick to viewing these special animals is to allow your eyes time to adjust to the dim light. Keep looking in the exhibit and in a few minutes, you’ll spot the animals if they haven’t spotted you first.” And we advise you don't let these guys out of their cages, lest you want them to join the ratdemic and face a city draped in mint-scented garbage bags dodging some crazy jumping rat porcupine hybrid.
