Before the Muppets take over the cineplexes this Thanksgiving (which, don't get us wrong, is going to be awesome!), brush up on some of the lesser-known, and sometimes less-kid-friendly puppets to make it to the silver screen at BAM's "Puppets on Film" exhibit.
Over the course of the next two weekends, the festival will feature puppet-centric programming and shorts for kids and adults alike. There will be classics like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (with a special intro from the puppeteer behind Leonardo!) and the original Muppet Movie, cult favorites like The Dark Crystal and Gremlins 2, new films like the kid's feature Kooky, documentaries like Making War Horse, art-house horror flicks like Rubber, and, of course, Team America: World Police.
Admission for most of the films is $12 for the general public and $7 for BAM Cinema Club Members, a small price to pay to see that there's more to puppets than just Kermit the Frog.
