Every year, Star Wars fans are treated to various Wookie-related promotional stunts in honor of May 4th, better known to Rebel scum as "Star Wars Day." (May the Fourth be with you, get it?) That has typically included things like Jawa sightings near Madison Square Park or Hamilton homages, but the NY Philharmonic have something special in mind for fans this year: the first chance to buy tickets to their live performances of the Star Wars: Film Concert Series.

The New York Philharmonic will perform the iconic music of John Williams to accompany screenings of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, Star Wars Episode VI: Return Of The Jedi and Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens this fall. The concerts will be led by acclaimed conductor David Newman. All the screenings will take place between September 15th and October 7th—you can see ticketing info here.

Tickets will go on sale to the public at noon on May 4th, but fans who come to the David Geffen Hall Box Office at 9:30 a.m. that day can get early access:

Fans who arrive by 9:30 a.m. will be entered in a raffle to win a pair of free tickets to the Star Wars concert of their choice. Three winners will be announced at 10:00 a.m. The first 20 Star Wars fans to arrive in costume will receive official Star Wars merchandise and collectible vinyl.

In addition, fans waiting in line will be entertained by members of the New York Philharmonic’s brass section performing music from the Star Wars movies, and will have a chance to meet R2D2, Kylo Ren, stormtroopers, and other Star Wars characters from costumed fan groups. Those planning to attend are encouraged to spread the word on social media using #nypstarwars.

And yes, I know what you're going to ask: will the iconic "Han's Your Man" Star Wars song be performed as part of the series? Unfortunately, that's above our pay grade, but you can enjoy that adorable little number below.
