A Manhattan man is claiming that Jerry Seinfeld and his borderline pathetic NBC reality show The Marriage Ref caused his wife to abandon him, his business to go under, and, generally, ruined his entire life.

"The headline should read, 'Jerry Seinfeld ruined my life: the danger of reality shows,' " beauty products salesman Howie Kohlenberg told The Post. Kohlenberg claims that he and his wife, Christine, decided to audition for the show in an attempt to drum up a little extra business for their spa, but they never got a chance to promote it on air. Instead, producers made it appear as though the couple was bickering over Kohlenberg taking off his wedding ring during basketball games. Kohlenberg says that after they appeared on the premiere of Seinfeld's show last spring, Christine became "obsessed" with becoming a star. She eventually left Kohlenberg, her partner of 14 years, their four year-old-son, and their flailing business behind to chase her dreams, which include posing in Playboy and starring on another reality TV show.

It was then that Kohlenberg learned the harsh truth of the entertainment biz: "Everybody thinks reality shows are glamorous—you're going to get rich, and it's going to be the next 'Jersey Shore,'" he said, which is definitely something to aspire to. But alas, "they make you jump through hoops, [and] the bottom line is they don't give a shit." Moral: never take televised marital advice from a guy who hits on married women in gyms.
