The family of James Gandolfini has revealed that the late actor's body will be headed back home tomorrow. The Sopranos star died on Wednesday while vacationing in Rome.

An autopsy on Friday confirmed that Gandolfini died of a heart attack, Usually it takes up to a week after the autopsy for the body to be released. Spokesman Michael Kobold said, "On behalf of the Gandolfini family, I would like to thank the Italian authorities for all the assistance they have rendered in expediting the formalities necessary to repatriate James Gandolfini’s remains to the United States. We are fully aware that this process usually takes 7 days and we are extremely grateful for their efficiency in dealing with this matter. It has been our privilege to be guests in your beautiful country, despite the difficult circumstances. We sincerely thank you."

Gandolfini was born in Westwood NJ, went to high school in Park Ridge, NJ and attended Rutgers University before trying to make it as an actor in New York. He lived mostly in New York and New Jersey (he and his family had been also spending time in Los Angeles, for his work). It's believed his funeral will be held at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York on Thursday.
