Do you think James Franco found out he has just a few years to live and is now trying to conquer every single facet of life before his time runs out? Let's hope not! The actor has tackled art (and the art of acting on a soap opera!), teaching, matriculating, Academy Awards hosting, directing, authoring, and of course, Francodefiling. And now: the stage.
The big screen actor has been meeting with theater director David Cromer to discuss his Broadway debut, playing gigolo Chance Wayne in a revival of Tennessee Williams’s Sweet Bird of Youth, which will hit the stage this Fall.
Negotiations are still under way, but Cromer is optimistic he'll land both Franco and leading lady Nicole Kidman. He told Arts Beat, “We’re still in talks with James, but he seems like a really decisive guy, so given that he’s saying he wants to do the play, I think he’ll do it."
We'll be sure to cover every important step he takes while in town rehearsing all summer.
