Max: I’m too nostalgic. I’ll admit it.
Skippy: We graduated four months ago. What can you possibly be nostalgic for?
Max: I’m nostalgic for conversations I had yesterday. I’ve begun reminiscing events before they even occur. I’m reminiscing this right now.
We push a lot of nostalgia around here, revisiting the 1970s, '80s, '90s, and all the way back to the beginning of New York time. But nostalgia is death, and we need to balance out our urge to look back with a dose of reality.
Reality's not bad! Like, in general. If we don't think about the [uggghhhh redacteds] in the subway system or the [horrifying redacteds] happening everywhere else or... you know what, there's a nice breeze going on out there today, the blue sky is dotted with puffy clouds, tomorrow's Friday... that's not bad, not bad at all. Some of us get pizza on Fridays.
So crack open a window and click through for a little bit of Instant Nowstalgia, indulge in-the-moment, maybe ask that girl or guy you like out this weekend, carpe diem, etc. Anyway, you look great today, and so does NYC. Over and out.
If you want to send us your photos of NYC right now, you can tag us on Flickr or Instagram. Couldn't have done any of that a few decades ago.
