While Eric Clapton has performed at Madison Square Garden plenty in the past (the author of this post has taken her dad at least two or three times), he's never brought his star-studded Crossroads Guitar Festival anywhere near New York until now (previously the concerts have been held in Illinois and Texas). This coming April 12th and 13th, E.C. will bring the big names out with him for the two-day concert at the venue, which will raise money for his Crossroads Center, a drug rehabilitation program. According to ArtsBeat:

"The lineup is a dream for lovers of blues and blues-rock, with its emotional, spiraling guitar solos. Albert Lee, B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Robert Cray, Jimmie Vaughan and Gary Clark Jr. are among the blues guitarists on the bill. The two concerts will also feature the Allman Brothers Band, Jeff Beck, John Mayer, Jonny Lang, Keb’ Mo’ and Taj Mahal. Several country artists are in the mix as well: Vince Gill, Keith Urban and Brad Paisley. Not all the artists will perform both nights, promoters said."

Clapton announced he'd also be touring prior to the big show, hitting around a dozen U.S. cities with his band.
