Police are looking for a man caught on video smashing a drinking glass into a bar patron's face in Manhattan last Friday.
The incident took place at Gym Bar— the establishment calls itself "New York's Original Gay Sports Bar"— in Chelsea on May 3th around 7 p.m. According to the NYPD, the suspect "struck the 56-year-old male victim on the head with a drinking glass following a verbal dispute."
A police spokesperson said the argument was over a "chair at the bar." Video shows the suspect, as well as the altercation from two angles:
The assailant fled while the victim, who suffered a laceration on the side of his head, was taken to Lenox Health Greenwich Village in stable condition.
The suspect is described as being 25-30 years old and 5'8" with Mohawk hair style. He was last seen wearing a dark colored sweater, a light colored shirt, gray pants and black sneakers.
Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the CrimeStoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or on Twitter @NYPDTips. All calls are strictly confidential.
