Another "hipster" unleashed his fury on a Williamsburg church's statues early Sunday morning, peeing on two angels standing sentinel outside Our Lady of Consolation Roman Catholic Church before smashing them on the sidewalk. The NYPD's Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating.

Security cameras caught the scoundrel red-handed. On the footage, the bro in question can be seen fumbling with his pants in front of the house of worship, located at 184 Metropolitan Avenue. The video briefly cuts out, resuming as the man appears to notice the statue to his left. Apparently aggravated, he ambles over and gruffly palms it in the face, sending it toppling to the ground. He then sets his sights on a second figure, pulling it from its pedestal. Having shattered both statues, he wobbles off (seemingly drunk), leaving the pavement littered with ceramic shards.

The incident occurred just before 4 a.m. on Sunday. According to the NYPD, the delinquent fled toward Bedford Avenue. Authorities are now seeking a man with short dark hair, about 30 years old and six feet tall, last seen wearing a dark pea coat, beige pants, and Vans. The NY Daily News has branded him a hipster, presumably because he committed this act of criminal mischief in Williamsburg.

Whatever label you want to assign this guy, he is just one in a series of inebriates who've targeted the statues for destruction: In December 2016, for example, security cameras (installed because people just love vandalizing these particular piece of church property) captured two idiots climbing on the statues' altar. The group, quite possibly inebriated, appeared to be posing for a photo when one of the men lost his footing and tumbled backward into his friend, taking an angel down with him. At the time, Church pastor Wlodzimierz Las told the NY Daily News that the statues had been smashed on a minimum of four other occasions dating back to roughly 2010.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the CrimeStoppers website, on Twitter @NYPDTips or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577. All calls are strictly confidential.
