A wet and windy weekend did absolutely nothing to dampen the energy and enthusiasm pulsating through the Bushwig Festival, the annual celebration of "drag, music, and love." Now in its 7th year, the self-proclaimed largest drag and queer music festival in the world returned to the Knockdown Center in Queens for two days of next-level sparkling style and visionary glamour.

Photographer Sai Mokhtari was on hand both days to capture the action—she reports back that Bushwig "has become maybe my favorite event in NYC. The creativity, the artistry, the bravado, the celebration of the grotesque, the bizarre and the beautiful...it's just the best. The drag scene in nyc is just on another level. Bushwig should honestly be 10 times more popular than it is—it's so fucking fun and fabulous."
