A 59-year-old man who works in IT for Comptroller Scott Stringer was arrested Thursday on charges that he allegedly groped a woman on a 7 train last month, according to the NYPD and Stringer's office.

Raza Qaisar, 59, was arrested around 5:00 p.m. Thursday in the 84th Precinct, which covers Brooklyn Heights, Boerum Hill, and Vinegar Hill. He's been charged with forcible touching, harassment in the second degree, and sexual abuse in the third degree, court records show. He was released on his own recognizance Friday.

Qaisar was making $53,560 per year as a computer analyst at the time of his arrest.

According to police, a 30-year-old woman was riding a southbound 7 train in Queens around 5:00 p.m. on September 27th when Qaisar allegedly touched her buttocks "continuously." Qaisar allegedly exited the train at the Willits Point station.

Another Stringer employee alerted the office that the alleged groper worked for Stringer after seeing his photo in media reports, according to spokesman Tyrone Stevens.

"After seeing that photo in media reports, a member of our staff alerted office leadership, who contacted the NYPD," Stevens said. "As a result, a member of our staff has since been arrested. We are currently undertaking a review of the matter."

Qaisar's next court appearance is November 20th in Queens. He has no prior arrests on his record, police said. His attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
