After debuting in Daredevil season two, Jon Bernthal will step back into the role of Frank Castle once again for his own solo series, The Punisher—or as I like to refer to him, Mr. Raspy Voice Murderer. Watch below as The Punisher's wife is shot in the head in their bedroom, Desi from Girls grows a terrible beard, Frank Castle finds new and inventive ways to get blood all over his face, and many, many, many guns are fired in the first trailer for the series. Seriously, this trailer is like a Gunsploitation snuff film condensed into two minutes.

According to the official Netflix description, "After exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his wife and children, Frank Castle uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York’s criminal underworld." It's still not clear when it is being released (though it will happen in 2017), nor whether a homicidal maniac with a penchant for headshots will be able to hold our interest over 13 episodes. But hey, at least The Punisher does far fewer head rubs than most Jon Bernthal characters.
