The disastrous New York Pizza Festival that was dubbed the Fyre Festival of NYC food events is now the subject of an inquiry by the New York Attorney General. After the festival's disorganization and dearth of actual pizza was reported by Gothamist, AG Eric Schneiderman's office has attempted to reach festival organizers, including alleged organizer Ishmael Osekre, and have opened an official inquiry into what took place in the "shady parking lot" in Bushwick on Saturday, September 9th.
The AG's office wants anyone who was in attendance at the New York Pizza Festival—and the Hamburger Festival scheduled to take place at the same location at the same time—to submit a complaint to the office with details about their experience.
Immediately following Saturday's event, some attendees formed several Facebook groups to collectively organize and share their complaints. So far, Goldstar—a ticketing service that often offers discounted admission to events—seems to have issued refunds to attendees who relayed their experience.
The Festival's alleged organizer, Osekre—who was also behind the similarly poorly-planned African Food Festival that took place last August—has not responded to repeated requests for comment.
