HBO has been plagued with problems during what should have been a celebratory summer filled with dragons, incestuous romantic pairings and ratings bonanzas. First, they were the subject of a major hack, with multiple shows (including as-yet unaired episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Deuce, Insecure, Ballers and Barry), scripts and internal emails leaked online; then the fourth episode of Game Of Thrones was leaked (four people were arrested in connection with that); and now, the penultimate episode of this season of GoT has also leaked online—but this time it's technically HBO's own fault.

The sixth episode of the seventh season of the show, reportedly titled "Death Is the Enemy," accidentally became available for HBO España subscribers yesterday for about an hour, long enough for fans to rip it online and then meme the hell out of it in places like the Free Folk subreddit (we're not linking to it, but if you do venture over there, BEWARE OF SERIOUS SPOILERS). It was a dastardly mistake that would probably make Euron Greyjoy cackle with joy.

HBO Europe confirmed the leak to Vulture, saying the episode was "accidentally posted for a brief time on the HBO Nordic and HBO España platforms," blaming it on a "third party vendor."

On the plus side for HBO, none of these leaks and unforced errors have seemingly affected viewership for GoT: the show has had three episodes this season that were the most watched episodes of the show ever, with last week's "Eastwatch" getting 10.72 million viewers. So most people will probably still tune in Sunday night, especially if they want to see the epic wight hunt in HD quality.
