On Thursday night, Arcade Fire performed an intimate (but not that intimate) show at Brooklyn's 125-year-old Grand Prospect Hall, best known for its kitschy “We make your dreams come true!” commercial and a plethora of weddings and bar mitzvahs.

The show was sponsored by Apple Music, who may or may not have set a no-flip flops dress code that later got revoked by the band. Or maybe it was a ticketing company handling the tickets, which were acquired via a lottery. Who cares... maybe flip flops should be banned in NYC?

While the concert was to celebrate the band's new album, Everything Now (listen here), they performed (in the round!) a lot of their old Funeral stuff, too, which you can watch below.

According to Variety, Win Butler addressed the audience, speaking to President Trump's controversial decision to ban transgender people from serving in the military, saying, "Trans people are not disturbances... I wish this whole thing was a joke, but we’ve got a lot of work to do."

They'll be back in NYC in September, performing at Madison Square Garden. For higher quality video of Thursday's performance, you can still stream the show at Apple Music.
