A woman was followed into a Bronx subway station's elevator by a person who then tried to film under her dress, police say. Now the suspect is wanted for unlawful surveillance.

The incident occurred at the Third Avenue / 149th Street station on June 20, around 11:25 a.m. According to the NYPD, the suspect "followed the 23 year-old female victim onto the elevator. Once inside, he squatted behind the victim and placed his cell phone underneath her dress and started recording footage of her."

When the woman confronted him, he allegedly fled eastbound on 149th Street.

Police released surveillance footage of the suspect, describing him as 25 to 30 years old and 5'8" to 5'9" with braided hair. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, a blue shirt, black pants and gray sneakers.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime stoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577. All calls are strictly confidential.

If you see or experience sexual misconduct in the subway (this includes seeing a masturbator, being groped, being grinded on, etc.), you can report it to the MTA and police on this website. There's also a place for you to upload photos and/or video. Don't let the perverts win.
