Williamsburg bar Midnights has teamed up with Simple Vodka for an evening of spritzing and fundraising. On Tuesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. the bar will serve free glasses of the "Melony Griffith," a watermelon and mint spritz. For every bottle they sell, Simple Vodka donates 20 meals to hunger relief organizations; Midnights will follow suit by donating $1 from each drink sold to Brooklyn food banks.
Elsewhere in Williamsburg, Littleneck's newest restaurant debuts dinner on Tuesday. The menu includes an expanded raw bar, their new clam toast dish with salsa verde, steamer clams in Narragansett beer and other seafood dishes.
Japanese fish market OSAKANA will be taking the ferry over to Staten Island on Thursday for a live butchering event at the borough's Flagship Brewery. At the Back Tuna Future event, attendees will watch the experts break down a whole tuna while drinking unlimited beer from the brewery's lineup beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tickets ($100) include three hours of the open beer bar plus, we hope, some delicious raw tuna.
MOFAD, the Museum of Food and Drink, is throwing a MOFAD @ Night party ($25) Friday evening for its guests who are 21 and older. Located adjacent to McCarren Park, the museum celebrates all aspects of food, including an interactive activity with Sweetcycle, who'll provide a stationary bike hooked up to a blender that attendees can ride to mix up a blended sherry cocktail. Attendees can also explore the Chow: Making the Chinese American Restaurant exhibition, snack on a few light bites, and enjoy two beers (plus that cocktail) included with the ticket.
