Food halls are on pace with poke and unicorn crap as the most pervasive dining trend in NYC, but when a food hall comes with a Cinnamon Snail, that's news we can all use.

City Acres bills itself as a hybrid food hall and grocery concept, which will feature ready-to-eat food sellers on one floor and a bi-level market with a butcher, salad bar, cheesemonger, and other grocery stations on the other two.

The vegan food truck-turned-food hall tenant joins a "veg friendly" lineup of food makers including Beyond Sushi, the vegan sushi chainlet, and Juice Brothers, a cold-pressed juice company that started in Holland. A spokesperson for the market said vegan and vegan-friendly vendors were scouted specifically for this location after noticing a trend in the industry.

Five new menu items will debut at the Snail come Friday when the market soft opens (a big grand opening is scheduled for July 11th). Among them: Gochujang Glazed Crispy Seitan with kimchi, pickled red onions, arugula and sriracha mayonnaise on a grilled pretzel bun and Peking Seitan Fries topped with tamarind plum glazed seitan, scallions, pickled red onions, wasabi mayonnaise and black sesame gomasio.

The two non-exclusively vegan vendors, Artichoke Basille's Pizza and Vanessa's Dumpling House, will make vegan and vegetarian-friendly items, too. But they'll also offer meat and dairy, like Artichoke's signature spinach and artichoke-topped pies and Vanessa's tasty meat-filled dumplings.

Cinnamon Snail's other location, The Pennsy, is currently closed for renovations, making the new FiDi spot the place to go for their delicious vegan burgers and donuts. The company has also been parking their food truck—which has been making select appearances since more or less shutting down in 2015—outside the market in the interim. This is City Acres's second location in NYC, joining a grocery-only Williamsburg location.
