Two men who were caught on a security camera robbing another man at gunpoint in Canarsie, Brooklyn are also facing charges of impersonating a police officer after cops say one of the men identified himself as a cop before running off with the victim's stuff.
According to police, two men, including one armed with a gun, approached their 34-year-old victim near the corner of Farragut Road and Ralph Avenue at around 4:40 pm. on May 14th. When the victim fought back against his attackers and tried to take the gun from the armed man, the second man told him that he was a police officer and to let go of the gun. When the victim complied, the men stole $30 and a Samsung Galaxy phone from the victim, according to a police spokesperson, and then fled the scene.
The first suspect was last seen with facial hair, wearing a black hoodie and pink pants. The second suspect was last seen wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.
Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime stoppers website or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
