Police believe the same person is behind an attempted robbery in East Harlem and then a robbery at a Bronx bank the next day. During the bank robbery, the suspect made sure to cover up his face with a Spiderman hood or mask.
The first incident occurred on Monday, April 24, around 10:15 a.m. at the East Harlem Pharmacy at 2371 2nd Avenue.
The NYPD says that "an unidentified male jumped over the counter top, where he displayed a box cutter and demanded drugs. The employee refused and the unidentified individual fled to parts unknown."
The following day, around 12:50 p.m., authorities say that the suspect entered the HSBC Bank at 1 East Fordham Road in the Bronx "with his face exposed, approached a teller and handed a note demanding money."
The teller agreed and then the suspect then "covered his face with a Spiderman hood/mask and fled on foot with the money," police said.
Video from the bank robbery was released:
The suspect is described as being about 5'5" and 145-150 pounds. He was was last seen wearing a black jacket, a black pants and, in the bank robbery, a Spiderman mask.
