Police believe the same person is behind three violent robberies targeting women in Queens, with the most recent attack leaving the victim unconscious. The suspect has "really scary eyes, devilish eyes," according to the most recent victim.
All the robberies have taken place in Forest Hills. The first attack was on January 18th, around 8:20 p.m., when, the NYPD says, a 63-year-old woman was approached by the man at the corner of 65th Avenue and 99th Street. Police say he brandished a knife, punched her in the face, and then ran off with her purse in the direction of 102nd Street. The victim sustained bruising to her face but refused medical attention at the scene.
Video was shared from that incident:
Around 5:50 p.m. on February 8th, the same man is believed to have approached an 82-year-old woman from behind in front of 110-17 70th Road. Police say he hit her on the head with a blunt object and knocked her to the ground, then ran away with her purse. The victim suffered lacerations to the back of her head and was taken to Forest Hills Hospital in serious but stable condition.
On Tuesday of this week around 5:45 p.m., police believe the same suspect got out of the driver's side of a blue four door sedan in front of 70-47 Harrow Street, walked up to a 53-year-old woman, and struck her on the head. She fell to the ground unconscious. When she came to, she realized her purse was gone, and with it four debit cards, two credit cards and approximately $51 in cash."
The victim was taken to Forest Hills Hospital in serious but stable condition for a concussions and lacerations to her head. She told WCBS 2, "He just ran straight up to me and started screaming and waving his weapon in his left hand. He had this rage in his eyes, this rage like he hit with all he got."
Investigators have now released a sketch of the suspect, describing him as 6' with a medium building, last seen wearing a dark colored sweatshirt.
Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
