A 17-year-old boy is accused of trying to sexually assault a woman during a vicious attack in her Manhattan apartment building's lobby. The victim fought back, and Aaron Kish was subsequently arrested after allegedly going to a hospital to treat his injuries—the hospital staff was reportedly suspicious about "scratches on his chest and missing clothing."

Around 5 a.m. yesterday morning, a 22-year-old woman was entering the vestibule of her East 20th Street building at Stuyvesant Town when an unknown male grabbed her from behind. During the ensuing struggle, an NYPD spokesman said the male suspect removed her clothing and tried to sexually assault her.

PIX 11 reports: "He repeatedly tried to sexually assault her, sources said. The beating lasted for nearly 10 minutes but the woman fought back, leaving the suspect with deep scratches on his chest, sources said. A male bystander interrupted the assault and the perpetrator fled from the apartment building."

The suspect fled, and police were investigating the attack yesterday. The Post photographed a hat that the suspect apparently dropped during his escape. From the Daily News:

Police caught up with the suspect about two hours later when someone at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital called 911 about an unaccompanied minor walking into the emergency room, officials said. He had scratches on his chest and was missing some clothing.

When cops arrived, they recognized the suspect from a photo they had from the building's surveillance camera, authorities said.

The NYPD has now charged Kish, a NJ resident, with attempted rape, strangulation, assault, burglary and sexual abuse.
