By the end of January, NYC's last Gray's Papaya standing won't be so lonely, because the new Midtown location is just about up and running.

Photographer David Chinchilla snapped this photo at 612 8th Avenue this afternoon, showing signage being installed at the new location. A call to the (previously) last remaining Gray's on Broadway confirmed they're very close to reopening "before the end of the month," according to an employee.

There's no point messing with a good thing, so they'll be serving "the same shebang," according the same employee.

The Midtown Gray's closed in 2011 just a few blocks where this new Recession Special destination will open. Nearly two years ago to the day, the Sixth Avenue outpost shuttered to transform into a juice bar.
