I've spent a month freaking out at people who were prematurely claiming Hillary Clinton had the election in the bag, but it appears Clinton's her own worst jinx—the candidate's reportedly planned a jubilant Election Night fireworks display over the Hudson River in anticipation of her victory, even though the polls and my hourly night terrors suggest said victory might be presumptive.

The NY Post reports that the Clinton campaign's commissioned a two-minute show, with fireworks expected to go off maybe even just a half-hour after New York's polls close at 9 p.m. The fireworks would launch off the Javits Center, where Clinton plans to hold her campaign victory party. But since the celebration was planned before we learned that the FBI is investigating Clinton aide Huma Abedin’s emails, and Donald Trump's since surged in the polls, people might be eating the fireworks instead of watching them.

The Post's sources—cops and firefighters—are not happy with Clinton's fireworks plan, with one detective calling them, "a little presumptuous," and a firefighter saying the FDNY's "rank and file is outraged they are being forced to do political work," since they haven't endorsed Clinton (the Fire Marshals Benevolent Association, in fact, has endorsed Trump.)

Circling back to the folks who got us in this week's mess, former Carlos Danger sextfriend Sydney Leathers says Abedin, who apparently sent hundreds of thousands of Clinton-related emails to the laptop she shared with Anthony Weiner, shouldn't be blamed for this nightmare. "I actually feel very bad for Huma. She's not done anything wrong in this situation. She was just married to a bad guy," Leathers told Inside Edition. Thanks Sydney, you'll make a great footnote in the last chapter of American history when it's taught in Panem.

Meanwhile, CNN has forced contributor and acting DNC chairwoman Donna Brazile to resign, following revelations that she fed a question to the Clinton campaign in advance of a primary debate earlier this year. The network said in a statement that it was "completely uncomfortable with what we have learned about her interactions with the Clinton campaign while she was a CNN contributor." Which is fair, though Corey Lewandowski appears to live another day.
