The year-old Museum of Food and Drink is launching an interactive (and edible!) exhibition at its Williamsburg gallery next month, complete with fortune cookies and their own version of a Great Wall.

Chow: The Making of Chinese American Cuisine won't open for another month, but anyone who donates at least $30 to the museum's Kickstarter campaign to help fund production costs will get a sneak-peak of the exhibition and guaranteed admission to its private opening.

MOFAD has raised more than half of its $80,000 goal, but there's still four days left in the campaign if you'd like to chip in a buck or two. Anyone who donates at least $10 to the campaign will get a small recipe booklet full of historical Chinese-American recipes.

The museum's latest exhibition will include a 15-foot Great Wall of Chinese takeout boxes (each box represents one of the more than 50,000 Chinese restaurants in the U.S.); gorgeous, hundred-year-old menus that show how Chinese-American food has evolved over the past century; and two interactive tastings.

MOFAD's fortune cookie machine.

Patrons can help themselves to as many fresh cookies as they can eat from the museum's perpetual motion-style fortune cookie machine. Chow will also feature wok tastings of Chinese-American staples from the early days of Chinese migration to the U.S. side-by-side with the Chinese takeout we're all familiar with today.
