Quiet and unseasonably mild weather is on tap for the next few days as a high pressure system sits over much of the eastern U.S. Afternoon highs are expected to reach the low to mid 80s under mostly sunny skies from now through Friday. That's 10-15 degrees warmer than normal for the fall equinox.

July temperatures in late September can't last too long, and a cold front late Friday night will bring more seasonable temperatures for the weekend. There's a slight chance of showers as the front passes, but the bigger change will be the temperature drop as the first cool, dry Canadian high of fall arrives.

Saturday will warm to the mid 70s at best, while Sunday and Monday are likely to only reach the upper 60s. The last time our high didn't reach 70 degrees was back on June 8th. The cool weather is not expected to last too long as we should be back into the 70s by Tuesday.
