The NYPD is questioning the husband of a 45-year-old woman who was found dead late Tuesday night inside of a 2004 Nissan Maxima parked on a street corner in East New York. According to police, the unidentified woman was found inside the car at 1473 Blake Avenue after an onlooker had called 911.
According to an NYPD spokesperson, the woman's 57-year-old husband turned himself in to officers at the 78th Police Precinct in Park early Wednesday morning shortly after the woman's body was found. Sources told the Post that the man is believed to have been inside the car with the woman shortly before she was killed.
A witness initially called 911 to report seeing the married couple in the Nissan together, but the woman's death has not yet been ruled a homicide and the husband has not been charged, according to the Daily News.
The woman's body was discovered with multiple slash wounds to the throat and body, ABC notes. Officers also brought her husband to Methodist hospital after he surrendered, where he was treated for a lacerated hand, the network notes. A police spokesperson confirmed that no arrests have been made in connection to the woman's death and investigation is ongoing.
