A 50-year-old man was killed after being struck by a SUV in Queens this morning, police said.
The pedestrian had been walking west and crossing Springfield Blvd around 7:20 a.m., a police spokesperson said. A 53-year-old driver in a 2014 Kia Sorento crashed into him while driving eastbound on Murdock Avenue and turning left onto Springfield. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with police as they investigate the fatal crash.
Emergency responders found the man unconscious and with severe injuries. He was transported to a hospital and later pronounced dead, police said. His name has not been released.
