REJOICE, for the Astor Place cube (née the Alamo) will be back in its rightful home on Wednesday, following a 14-month absence.

The good news comes courtesy of EV Grieve, courtesy of the Astor Place Construction Bulletin. See? It's right here:

The 1,800 pound cube—designed by the late artist Tony Rosenthal—has been a fixture at Astor Place since 1967. It was packed up in November of 2014 while the surrounding area was reconstructed, and I wonder if it will even recognize its former home once it's reinstated. I hope it returns covered in tiny mirrors, like a disco ball.

Additionally, a portion of Jim Power's Mosaic Trail will also be replaced. What's next? The return of Mars Bar? Arrow Bar? CBGBWreck Room? Dare to dream, New York.
