Now that the weekend's stormy weather is (mostly) over, it's safe to step outside and explore the city's various food happenings. Three neighborhood-centric fairs give you the chance to sample local fare, so put down the takeout menu, delete all delivery apps, and find something delicious IRL.

Somewhere between the slow-walking tourists and rabid Hamilton lines, Times Square does indeed have a food scene. On Monday the annual Taste of Times Square festival will take over the neighborhood, with over 50 restaurants serving up small bites of all varieties. Attendees can purchase "Taste" tickets for $1 each, which can then be redeemed for small dishes that run from $1 to $6 at each restaurant's booth. In the mix will be Junior's Pizza, La Pulperia, and Times Square mainstay John's Pizzeria, guaranteeing you the chance to nibble on top-notch Latin American fusion and, of course, pizza.
This week's warm weather calls for cold beer—and cold cider. On Tuesday, the Washington-based Snowdrift Cider Company, will be taking over Wassail in the Lower East Side, giving you the opportunity to sample their artisanal Cornice, Perry, and Red Crab ciders while meeting Snowdrift Cidermaker Tim Larsen. Pair your cider with some of Wassail's menu offerings including spring pasta with smoked almonds, cold smoked duck breast, or crispy red rice for a perfect food and drink combo.

Wednesday offers two more neighborhood-centric food events. In the early afternoon, head to Liberty Plaza for the fifteenth annual Dine Around Downtown festival, where more than 40 neighborhood spots including EATALY, Adrienne's Pizzabar, and Cowgirl Sea-Horse will be serving up the best fare lower Manhattan has to offer. Stroll around while listening to live music by the National Jazz Museum Harlem All-Stars and nosh on all the food your stomach can handle.

Save some room for some of Harlem's finest eats, which will be served up at the fifth annual Food & Drink Boulevard food fair on Wednesday evening. A $10 ticket guarantees access to plates from restaurants including Chocolat, LoLo's Seafood Shack, and Billie's Black (try the mac & cheese). There will also be games, namely a scavenger hunt-style Booze Clues contest, with prizes including hotel stays, gift certificates to Harlem restaurants, and Uber gift card. Purchase tickets here or at the door.

Wrap up the week with yakitori and sake at Teisui, which will be hosting a five-course dinner with two Thursday night seatings (7 p.m. and 9 p.m.). Highlights from the menu include uni royal (a sea urchin and foie gras mash-up), braised rabbit niyaki, and Japanese-style paella. Hoyo Brewing Company, the oldest brewery in Japan's Miyagi district, will be serving up rare and premium sake pairings with each course, including Manamusume and Kura no Hana. Purchase tickets here.
