A little teacup Yorkshire puppy was taken from a pet store earlier this month, and the robber was caught on surveillance video.
According to the police, the incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. on May 4, at the R & K Dogs Grooming store at 888 East Tremont Avenue: "The suspect removed a black and brown Tea Cup Yorkie puppy from a cage and walked out of the store without paying for it; he fled the location in an unknown direction."
Video shows the suspect, who appears to be carrying a large bag on his shoulder, reach down and take the puppy from the display window:
The suspect is described as being 5'8" and 220 pounds and last seen wearing a black hooded sweater, a dark colored baseball cap, light blue jeans and tan work boots.
Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime stoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
