You've sprung forward for Daylight Saving Time and survived, which means you can now look forward to the onset of spring and the guarantee of longer, warmer evenings. And there's no better way to celebrate than with a host of great food events this week—including one where you might get a chance to kick it with Anthony Bourdain.

Monday night is '80s Night at the expertly-designed East Village bar Pouring Ribbons. And while you might be tempted to break out your Def Leppard concert tee and crank some hair metal, they're planning to keep things a bit more civilized. Bartender star Danny Neff will be mixing fine drinks, and you'll be encouraged to arrive decked out in hair scrunchies, Reeboks, and all-acid-washed-everything. They'll be loosely basing this week's flashback around Weird Science, so we recommend slacking off at work and re-watching it before you drop by.

Learn how to make a proper whiskey cocktail, along with what it is that separates single malt scotches from the sour mash bourbons of the world, at Tuesday night's Cocktail Kingdom class at Mace. The how-to lessons are completely free and work on a first-come, first-serve basis. Things get going at 7 p.m., and future Tuesdays will include workshops on how to prepare Martinis, Margaritas, Mezcal, and Mint Juleps.
On Wednesday, hob-nob for a good cause at Food For Thought, a tasting benefit for the UA Bronx Academy of Letters . Guastavino's will be hosting globe-trotter Anthony Bourdain, writer Mary Karr, and actress Ali Wentworth along with some of the city's best chefs for an evening of fund-raising and fine cooking. Good food for a good cause, plus the chance to go backstage at the CNN offices and meet Anderson Cooper? Yes please.

And finally, if you must head out and cause some St. Patrick's Day ruckus, get to Grand Street on Thursday where a sprawling pub crawl will include free pizza, free BBQ, and a plethora of drink deals on everything from hearty stouts to stodgy old whiskeys to that ambrosia of the gods, Fireball.
