A woman is in critical condition after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Williamsburg last night.
Police say the incident happened just after 1 a.m. Saturday morning near Rodney Street and Metropolitan Avenue in Brooklyn. The woman, who is in her 30s, was struck by a silver BMW as she was attempting to hail a cab. She was transported to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition with head trauma.
Cops add that the driver left the scene. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
In a separate incident, a man was killed when a truck struck him after it flipped over when it was struck by an allegedly drunk BMW driver in Washington Heights. That crash took place around 4:15 a.m. when the BMW driver, who was driving the wrong way down W. 181st Street near Amsterdam Avenue, collided with a Ford F150.
Two pedestrians, a male and female who are both 46-years-old, were struck. They were transported to Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx, where the man was declared dead. The woman is in stable condition. The BMW driver initially fled the scene, then returned and was arrested. Charges are pending.
