NYC's Best Donuts Join Forces For First Ever Donut Fest

Many of the city's finest donut purveyors will be under one roof in a matter of weeks at NYC's first Donut Fest, which comes to us by way of Chicago. On Saturday, January 23rd, Williamsburg's Verboten transforms into a haven for all Homers seeking deep fried cake-and-yeast treats. Good clean fun for the everyman.
Newcomers The Doughnut Project are on the docket, hopefully bringing their addictive, bacon-topped version of the West Coast maple bar. Also on hand: Mike's Donuts, Carpe Donuts (of the apple cider donut fame), vegan offerings from Dun-Well Doughnuts and a handful more. Coffee, the natural ally of the donut, will be poured from the likes of Brooklyn Roasting Company, D'Amico Coffee Roasters, Cafe Grumpy and more. (No gold donuts, unfortunately.)
There are three sessions on the day, including a special VIP entry ($50) from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. that awards attendees tastes of all the donuts, a Donut Fest mug and tickets for tree cups of coffee, which are needed at that hour on a weekend. Regular entry sessions ($35) are 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. and include tastes of all the donuts plus three coffee tickets. All the entry fees will be donated to Food Bank for New York City, a fitting karmic balance for a caloric excesses.
