A woman was slashed this morning on a Manhattan sidewalk, shortly before 6:30 a.m.
An NYPD spokesman says the victim was slashed at 24th and 7th Avenue by an unknown assailant. Local TV news stations show police activity on West 23rd Street, between 7th and 8th Avenues, in front of a stretch of buildings that includes the Malibu Diner.
The victim is in stable condition at Bellevue Hospital. The investigation is ongoing. We'll update as we find out more.
