There are more ramen joints than you can shake a chopstick at in this city but as long as we keep slurping, they'll keep coming. The latest news heralds Wagamama, an international Japanese chain that the Post reports will make a landing in Flatiron at some point later next year. The new casual eatery will be the first in New York City—and serve as the company's flagship—the fifth in the United States and part of a current fleet of 140 worldwide.
The chain, which began in London in the early '90s, draws fans for its Japanese comfort foods including several types of ramen, curries, gyoza and donburi. The name, which translates to "naughty baby," indicates the food will be approachable and Grub Street goes so far as to call it "inauthentic." Hey, it's not like we turned our noses up at Panda Express.
