If you want to get in the Halloween spirit—and don't want to pay $90 for a Sexy Pizza Rat costume—there's an a-boo-ndance of spooky and scary movies being screened around town.

Ghostbusters is at Film Forum tonight. Then, on Saturday, October 31st, the theater will be showing classic 3D movies Creature From The Black Lagoon and House of Wax with Vincent Price.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center's Scary Movies series kicks off on Friday, October 30, with 12 new films, like road movie anthology Southbound, The Devil’s Candy from The Loved Ones director Sean Byrne, and some classics, like the 1931 Frankenstein. One of the movies on Halloween Day is The Hallow about a scientist and his family who move into a possessed Irish forest. And yes, the scientist is played by Joseph Mawle, who you'll recognize as Benjen Stark.

October 30th is also when a David Cronenberg horror series starts the Museum of the Moving Image. Scanners, The Brood, Videodrome and Rabid screen on Halloween Day. On November 1st, The Fly and the scariest movie ever about twin gynecologists, Dead Ringers, are on tap.

The midnight movie on October 30th and October 31st at Landmark Sunshine theater is the incomparable Nightmare On Elm Street. The IFC Center is also paying tribute to horror master Wes Craven through the end of the year; The Hills Have Eyes is showing on October 30th and 31st.

If you prefer brunch with your gory movies, George Romero's Day of the Dead is playing at Nitehawk Cinema at 11:45 a.m. on October 31, which gives you plenty of time to get into your costume later.
