[UPDATE BELOW] A 16-year-old boy was stabbed in the stomach yesterday and a police officer was pepper-sprayed during a massive brawl outside the Barclays Center.
Cops say they responded to a 911 call regarding a large group of teenagers gathered outside 139 Flatbush Avenue in Prospect Heights at around 3:45 p.m. yesterday—when they arrived, they found a group of high schoolers fighting outside the location. One 16-year-old student, who ABC 7 reports hailed from South Shore High School was stabbed in the stomach by a teenager from John Jay High School—he was transported to Brookdale Hospital and is expected to survive.
Another individual was taken to Brookdale Hospital and treated for lacerations after being punched in the face, according to authorities. An officer was also treated after he was sprayed in the face with pepper-spray. Two teenagers have been arrested—one has been charged with possession of a box-cutter, and another has been charged with assault.
Update 1:32 p.m.: Video captured at the scene shows dozens of teenagers gathered around while one student is beaten and kicked, as the cops arrive:
