A subway etiquette-related assault transpired on the A train earlier this month, and police are still searching for their suspect.
According to the NYPD, the incident occurred at 9:20 p.m. on August 9th: A 30-year-old woman was sitting down on a southbound A train traveling somewhere through the 78th Precinct when the woman next to her "told her to stop leaning on her."
The victim started filming the scold with her cellphone, at which point the suspect "punched and scratched the left side of the victim's face and arm."
The suspect stayed on the train when the victim got out.
The victim refused medical attention and gave the police a photograph of the suspect, who is described as being about 25 years old, 5'2" tall, 120lbs., brown eyes, long black hair in a ponytail and wearing a purple shirt and eyeglasses.
Last week, an F train rider was attacked after asking a woman to move her bag from a subway seat.
Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call Crime stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime stoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
