Sure, the MTA wants subway riders to keep their stuff to themselves. But last Friday, one F train rider was so determined to keep her bag on an empty seat that she allegedly assaulted the person who asked her to move her bag.
According to the NYPD, this occurred during the morning rush hour, at 9:45 a.m., on August 14 in Queens: A 45-year-old woman was on a Manhattan-bound F train "when she asked the suspect to move her bag that was placed on the seat so she could sit. The suspect did not respond, the victim attempted to sit when the suspect became enraged pushing the victim, scratching her on the chest, pulling her hair and biting her on her forearm causing a laceration and bleeding."
The alleged attacker then fled when the train was at 21st Street and Queenbridge subway station. The victim was removed to Mt. Sinai Hospital in stable condition.
The police released a photograph of the suspect.
Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call Crime stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime stoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
But, as the MTA says—don't be a seat hog.
